Covid Patrols Near Educational Premises

For your safety, we have been informed by Cumbria Police that they and partner agencies have created a patrol plan for monitoring, engaging and enforcement, if necessary, of students who may persistently fail to comply with Covid restrictions.

The Police and City Covid Marshals have been tasked with further patrols around school/college opening and closing times and over the lunchtime period.  If large groups are found gathering they will be dispersed and reported incidents involving the same young people may involve further action which might result in fixed penalty notices for the students or parents.  Enforcement is a last resort, Police and Covid Marshals will engage, encourage and advise wherever possible in the first instance.

For your own safety, it is important that you comply with Covid restrictions whilst in College and the surrounding area, including during breaks and lunch and whilst going into the city centre.  Please be aware that these extra patrols will be in operation – it is currently only possible to meet up with one other person from outside your household outdoors.
